NWRC Mission

The mission of the Northwest Returnee Conference on Education Abroad (NWRC) is to provide re-entry support, networking opportunities, skill building workshops, and professional development for college students from the Northwest United States, who have recently returned from an international educational experience. The NWRC conference strives to cultivate and support the growth of global citizens by  allowing returnees to reflect and understand their recently acquired international experience.  Returnees will have the opportunity to gain important life skills that will enrich and foster their future careers and educational endeavors.

About the conference

This will be the 4th annual Education Abroad Returnee Conference in the northwest.  Any northwest students who have had an international experience are welcome to attend. In January 2011, over 80 students from more than 10 different universities attended the conference, where they shared their stories from overseas and learned how to apply their international experiences in their future career.

The conference will start with brief opening remarks and a chance for participants to reflect and build on their experiences.  There will be two breakout sessions covering a variety of topics from how to go abroad again to internationally focused graduate programs and internationalizing your resume.  A hosted lunch with a keynote speaker will take place between the morning and afternoon breakout sessions. The international resources fair will complete the conference.

All attendees must register for the conference in advance and pay the registration fee, which includes lunch. Travel Grants are available for those who will be traveling from a distance.  See the Travel Grants section of the website for more details.

**We welcome walk-in's on the day of the conference.  If you do not pay prior to the conference, the registration fee will be $25.

Please check back often for updates and additional information about the conference. We look forward to seeing you there!
